About Us

Dr. John Eichenlaub of Eichenlaub and May Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. John Eichenlaub

John Eichenlaub came to Lancaster in 1994 after his residency training at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts (a campus of Tufts Univ)., and completed his medical degree (M.D.) at Case Western Reserve University in 1990. Prior to going to medical school, he practiced as a CPA with Price Waterhouse for 2 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.

He has been active in many leadership roles, including representative of the American College of Ob-Gyn (ACOG) to the American Medical Association (Young Physicians), and Section Chairman of ACOG (Section 1) of Junior Fellows. He is currently a Fellow of ACOG. He also currently serves at Women & Babies Hospital (LGH) as chairman of Women's Health and previously as Medical Director for 5 years.

Dr. Eichenlaub is married to wife Jeanette, a local dentist, and they have three daughters.

Dr. Dorothy May

After graduating from Princeton University and the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Dr. Dorothy May completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Wake Forest Medical School in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She returned to her hometown of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School, to practice medicine with her father, Dr. John C. May. She joined Dr. John Eichenlaub in his practice in October 2005.

She values providing medical care in the setting of a small OB-GYN practice where patients are well known to all providers. She also enjoys providing care to the community from which she was raised. She lives in Lancaster Township with her husband Chris, a senior vice-president at Fulton bank, and her two children, Arthur and George.

Her medical interests include gynecological surgery and high-risk obstetrics.


Cheri, RN, MSN, CRNP of Eichenlaub and May Obstetrics & Gynecology

Cheri Gard, CNM, CRNP

Cheri received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from Penn State University and worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse at LGH as well as a clinical nursing instructor for Lancaster General College of Nursing. She went on to receive her Masters degree at The University of Maryland and became a Women's Health Certified Nurse Practitioner as well as a certified Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. She enjoyed working in a local family practice office but her love and passion for Obstetrics led her to the post-graduate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) program at The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Cheri maintains board certification as a Nurse Midwife and has been practicing in Lancaster as a midwife / NP with Dr. Eichenlaub since 1999. She is committed to providing the personal touch to our patients within this unique practice.

Cheri lives in lancaster with her husband Nick, local attorney, and they have two daughters, Nicole and Alyssa.


Dr. Elizabeth  Kwon Ruszak, DO of Eichenlaub and May Obstetrics & Gynecology

Dr. Elizabeth Kwon Ruszak, DO

Her training and interests include high risk obstetrics as well as advanced gynecological surgery and pelvic reconstructive surgery. A native of Lancaster County, she is a graduate of Hempfield High School and recently moved back to Lancaster.
